Watch the Football! โฝ | That Mitchell and Webb Look – BBC
Watch the BBC first on iPlayer ๐ A sports pundit gives a vitriolic rant about football and why we should all watch it in this spoof advert.
David Mitchell and Robert Webb score a goal with a second series of their distinctively daft BAFTA-winning comedy, That Mitchell And Webb Look on BBC Two. There’s a chance to learn the ancient art of padlock folding or Padlockigami. A man gets a little too excited about football. There’s a staffing problem in an innuendo-ridden 70s hospital. Sir Digby Chicken Caesar goes on another rip-roaring adventure. And some stone-age technophobes are sceptical about bronze.

I think FIFA must have seen this…
I miss my Daddy๐ญ
You know David wrote this…
My personal favourite has to be
"The giants of Charlton meet the titans of Ipswich, making them both seem normal sized"
I feel like a simpleton now
Well.. just another Sky Sports video promoting weekly football matches.
Rumour has it that 14 years later, David Mitchell is still furiously pacing round that football pitch.
"Watch it! It's gonna move!"
Mattering to someone, presumably. ๐๐
probably in top 20 of best uk scenes, it really is monty python calibre, i laugh everytime.
Spot on ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
That's exactly the image americans have of those who watch football (soccer)
I wonder if since foot ball became popular….what math is for… has there been a moment when it has not been kicked by someone on the planet? Someone playing at all times somewhere?
The creepy way David says "And Forever to Play it in" is creepily familiar…..
Watch it, it's going to mooooove xD
The upcoming Champions League format in a nutshell
I can't wait to see the Giants of Charlton play the Titans of Ipswitch. Sounds like an important game.
Has to be one of the best Mitchell and Webb Look clips. Seriously underrated show
It's all the football all the time. Something your wife loves to hear.
They did a great job of rein-acting a typical late 90s early 2000s sky sports advert about FOOTBALL!
Fox soccer in a nutshell.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
"In a match already being described as 'on this Sunday'."
My fantasy has always been a huge arena where every football team could play at the same time, and every football fan could be there to watch. I would then drop a nuclear weapon on the whole damn lot.
This is such an accurate take on those sport ads. I just had one of those football ads pop up, telling me that 'every moment matters'. Yeah, presumably to someone.
This feels like a David Mitchell panel show rant, adapted into a sketch.
The lines "Presumably massively mattering to someone" and "ITS GOING TO MOVE" accurately sums up my entire childhood opinion of my dad's various sports shows.
โMaking them both seem normal sizedโ ๐คฃ
who will win the Football?
Anyone else getting really hyped to watch the football
He creepily looks just like my Dad
Foot ball watch the foot ball
Foot ball catch and watch the foot ball
Look more foot ball
It's time
To
FOOT BALL!!!!
Genius ๐
I detest football and its supporters. People living their lives through multi millionaire prima donnas. Sad people.
manchester sucks, liverpool sucks every team club sucks. anyone that takes football seriously can go kill themselves honestly
Keep buying the shirts and tickets simps.
To this day, this is one of the best sketches I've seen.
Britain needs some more sports.
When the football season is over but the Nations League is on.
I remember telling my teacher to play this video in the school laptop
Perfection – in every single detail – masterpiece.
Legend has it, David Mitchell is still walking around that field ๐คฃ
It's like he's reading my mind.
Ha who will win the football
One more week until I have football back in my life ๐๐๐
In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only football.
"ON ON ON…"
Does anyone else get a sense of existential crisis when watching this? The thought that nothing really matters because even if your team wins, it soon wonโt matter because there another year full of games, and then on and on forever ๐ณ
no one:
sky sports pl adverts:
And forever to play it in!…..
I won't watch any sport that I dont play. This skit just highlights how fatuous it really is.
